I have tried to copy a dvd with the following programs on both desktop and laptop with the same settings. AnyDVD, DVD Shrink, and CloneDVD. When I try to copy them with the laptop they will not play on my DVD player, but they will play on my PS2. When using the desktop, they will play on both. I have no idea what the problem might be. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears... Thanks...

Make sure your firmware is up to date on both burners.
If burning at max speed slow it down - most here recommend 4x.
Make sure you are using quality media - Online - Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim In store: Sony, Fuji, Maxell (look for made in Japan) and Verbatim.

Ok. The laptop is brand new from Dell. I'll check to see what I can find about the burner. Thanks for the info.
