I want to bring a few components (motherboard, processor, HD) purchased in the US to a friend who lives in St Petersburg Russia to install in his case. Are they compatible? Thanks, JPCM
Unless you can see the case, that could be a tricky one! But as most cases available have pretty much standard fittings, I cannot see any probs. Depends on the bits your friend has, any chance he could let you know? Power supply MAY be a problem, connectors may not be compatible with your MOBO & HD. You have to go a hell of a long way to find out though!
should be alright if standard pc case. if propriatory like dell than might have mounting problem for motherboard.
Thanks! I had heard that the only compatibility problem would be with power. Just wanted to see if anyone out there had first-hand experience with US/Europe compatibility. A friend of a friend of a friend knows someone who might have this info for me, but it would be nice to get as much info as possible- I just dont want to get over there with a new mobo, processor, and hd and then find out it doesnt fit! It would leave less room in my luggage for vodka and Matroshka dolls!
all psu's have a switch on back side for 110v/220v. that is for power going into psu. power going to motherboard is still same +/-5, +/-12, +/-3volts whether there in europe or here in north america.
