I have one of those old desktop pc's you the ones that you could put your monitor on. well i was wondering if it was possible to convert those to a normal standing up one and how hard it was to achieve this?
Not very hard depending on your capacity to handle dismantling and reassemblin the comp. All you have to do is take everything out and insatall it into the new case. A phillips screwdriver should be all you need.
It's an old compaq one, how har do you think it would be installing new usbs on it? and a ethernet card? also the monitor that came with is broken but i tried putting my new pcs normal monitor and it wouldnt fit because on the desktop there is one hole missing for the pin which is wiered. do u think i could just install a new monitor connector or i have to buy a old monitor
Usb, ethernet, video card, case? Sounds more like you need a new computer. As hardware developement progresses some backward compatability will be lost, if your computer is several years old, new hardware will not necesarilly work correctly without other additions, i.e. a new power supply. You can find a decent computer, in terms of what you have now, on ebay for very little money, or you might wish to have more modern technology and invest close to $1000 in a new computer that, should, last for several years to come.
I have a new computer which has all the hi tech stuff. The thing is I got this compuer of a mate fpr nothing. i want to put it in a standard case because am going to give it my little sister all i want to do with it is have a ethernet card so it can hook upto the internet and usb because that is the norm. I think this wil suit her becuase all she wants to do is surf the net. Its a good old pc but i just want to mess about with it and put it in a new case
