Desktop Shortcuts

    Ok the other day i went to my friends house and on his desktop you only have to click the shortcuts once instead of twice,how can i do that to my desktop so that i only have to click them once?

    Open up Windows Explorer (or double click My Computer). Go to Tools, Folder Options and in the first window, bottom section "Click items as follows" check the first option 'Single-click to open an item (point to select)'.

    This affects all icons, not just those on your desktop.
