DESPERATE FOR HELP - Euro Vox EX1000 SL stuck on Standby

    Hi Lads,

    Ive had this Euro Vox EX1000 SL since a few months before xmas. I came in one evening to sit down and relax with my little friend VOX and when i plugged him in he was stuck on standby (LED stays red)

    Ive read through a few forums at this stage searching for answers and i came across a few things like:

    REFLASH THE BOX - done (Old and new firmware) - no joy
    RESET BUTTON INSIDE BOX ON PCB - done - no joy

    Read about this Jtag thing and the c14 Capacitor leaking but i had a look at that and it look's perfect not a thing wrong with it, so dont really wanna try the Jtag thing.

    I know im repeating stuff other people have asked but Has anyone got any ideas why my pal VOX suddenly decided to go red and wont change to blue...How i miss him so! Would really appreciate some help miss the good times LOL

    When you say you re-flashed the box did it take the firmware ok and did it confirm that the firmware flash was successful?

    Also why didn't you send the box back for a replacement as it should still be under warranty.

    Hi HiTeck, Yea it said the re-flash was complete successfully no bother but it just wont turn on stays on standby. (Light stays red)

    I have opened the box to have a look and that voids the warrenty so i cant send it back.

    Can you think of anything to help fix it??

    Hi Lads,

    First of all id just like to apologise to HiTeck for wasting his time with this paticular forum. SORRY HiTeck..

    With that said and done, this is for anyone having trouble gettin their E.Vox Ex1000SL off standby. CHECK THE REMOTE BATTERIES!!

    I have spent the last week mind boggled as to how my box was suddenly stuck on standby when i plugged it in, When i pressed any buttons on the remote nothing happened. There are no buttons on the front of this box unlike some earlier versions of the E.Vox.

    So after hours of taking the cover off (Voiding the warrenty)
    Resetting the box from the inside
    re-flashing and re-flashing

    It finally occured to me as the box looked perfect inside and out maybe it might be the remote - so i got a lend of a friends and as if by magic SHAZAM!! I got it from standby to power on!

    (TIP FOR THE MAKERS - POWER/VOL/CH BUTTONS ON THE FRONT of the box are helpful to ensure box is working if remote fails)

    A lesson learned to share with you all dont leave out the remote Rule it out if your box is stuck on standby and it doesnt work.
