You probably need to flash the firmware for your drive. Latest is 203D and you have 202C Here is the site: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces Set your target size to 4300 so that you are not burning too close to the edge of the disc. Start with this. What brand of media are you using?
Go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1920 and get the latest firmware, which is 203D to run and updates on your burner's firmware. With TDK media, they're not the best. So, trim/customize it down a little bit like 4400MB. TDK is barely OK, so it's best you get other high quality media like genuine Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "advance azo" or "datalife plus" and Maxell (Hitachi Corp. - made in japan). Seems like your burner don't like the media. Change to another high quality media as mentioned above. Remember to update your burner's firmware for media compatibility. See above reply. Burning at 1X is way too low. Try to burn at 4X when you have some high quality media like YUDEN, Verbatim or Maxell (made in japan, by Hitachi). Make sure to update your firmware as well.
