desperatly need help

    I just installed a mod chip into a version 15 PS2 (slim PsTwo) and along the way the cable from the reset button to the mainboard got damaged, and after inspecting the cable closer, I noticed that some of the leads on it were touching each other. Does anyone know if by these points shorting out, if it can cause any major damage to the main board?

    with as cheap as it would be to get a new ribbon cable, why risk it.
