detecting the HDD

    Hi
    I recently installed a Maxtor 80 gb HDD in PS2 using netwrok adapter...etc. etc. When I boot up HD Advanace i conitunually get an error message stating the the HDD hardware cannot be found. What is the problem here?

    Yes...the HDD is set as Master...I still get the same problem :S

    perhaps my hdd is not formatted correctly. What is the best way to format the HDD....
    ?

    You could try putting the hdd in the pc and use WinHIP as far as i know it can format hdd's

    once you set your HD to "master" (the jumpers are in the rear of the HD), the software will automatically reformat the HD. And formating is a snap ... it does in seconds, literally.

    well this is a bit different but i have recently installed bigger drive to my ps2 but want to format old one back to put in my pc as back up what is best and simplest way thanks
