I would go with the 50/50.

Ok thanks but I am asking how to determine the better break since there both rated "average." Is padding a factor to consider, or what?

I already read this guide: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=1777 before posting, but the thing is in this guide the layer break is an obvious choice considering there are several average quality breaks and one very good break. It does not elaborate on how to choose the better break when both breaks are of the same quality.

The 50/50 is usually the better one. The new version of ImgBurn that will be out soon will have a viewer so that you can see where the break will be.
