Dev XBOX 360 ?

While working on one of the many 360's , I found this weird one. The sticker on the board says "tape experiment" . When I lifted the heatsinks off, no paste on the GPU. It had loads of yellow thermal tape. The client who brought the box to me said he bought it on ebay. I googled and found nothing. Any ideas

i think dev units cant play retail games, something about the code being signed/unsigned. dont qoute me on it though.

 

i thought they could. i would deffiantly hold on to that box though. you deffiantly have something.

 

like i said, dont quote me on it. im just going off what i 'recall' reading a long while back when the last thread about a dev unit was up on here (which the OP might want to search for). the guy was asking what it was worth with or without the side car.

 

i still cant remember what the hell a sidecar is? lol

 

its that thing you put on the side of a motocycle so you can carry another passenger.

i think it was what the 'prototyped' games were played on since they werent finalized or anything. not really sure though.

 

lol i know everytime i read about a sidecar and a 360 all i can think about is a motorcycle. lol

 

I thought the sidecar added extra ram for debugging purposes or something. i could be completely wrong however

 

not sure, too lazy to search for it, brain hurts, its early.

 

Yes, they are specifically for game developers.
