Recently i bought a new pc. ladadada... anyhow i used the advice found here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/292257

and installed AVG Anti Virus for my virus protection. all was well untill yesterday when my wife was using my pc and somehow this started happening

every application i open signals the Resident Shield Alert with a warning for a threat detected!

Ive searched the internet (googled) and everywhere says that its a nessacary Windows process and to not disable it.

Im at wits end, is it the lasted Update of AV that i did. or is it a genuine virus written over the orginal devenum.

    WHat should i do?

I don;t want to simply disable Resident Shield, thats not a solution in my eyes

ANy idea would be most appreciated.

First of all, I would like to know whether you are connect to the internet. Second, where do you get your AVG software? Did you download from the unknown website? It could be you caught a virus or malware..and this virus/malware is in your pc memory..you got to temporily disable your active surf=shield. and do a full scan with AVG....and see what happen. Download hijackthis to delete the virus or malware from your register file...a word of advice..do not delete the wrong register or else you are in for more trouble,..in other word you must know what is the register file that causes the problem before you delete any registry file.

    Good luck
