Ok, I've started modding to make a lil extra money for people who don't have the time or equipment to do the mods themselves. Today I had the biggest issue yet ever. He comes over stating he has a BenQ, just like mine which i started out first with. So i pop er open to getter done, to my suprise it has a completely different model number and everything, figuring it wasn't anything to worry about, I set out to achive the goal of modding it. Once in dos and all connected i turned on the box and proceeded with dosflash hit y, and noticed it was switching between 52 and D2 not 51 and D1 as usual, after turning back on and off it wouldn't pass this stage. I instantly went onto google to research this new misterious drive. Turns out this new drive is currently unhackable since it's so new and people are trying to figure out what to do about this new drive.

So after that whole scpeal he said he bought this one cause his previous xbox had stopped working, he stated it was previously modded. This Xbox has a TS-H943, same modle my buddy has thats having trouble reading burnt games. However this one seems to make a grinding noise, i found out after turning it one bare bone drive that it must be the laser guiding motor, when i manualy move the laser it does not skip on the tracks of the guide rail. I will be attempting to flash it to xtreme 5.2 as heard it added support of Disc-LockOn has helped many with open tray issues which this one is doing with any game instered. I will post my findings if anyone can give me more info for help on either of these 2 drives please post!

well putting an increased tension spring on the guide rail as stopped the grinding noise of the teeth slipping past the groves, i found out however this did not solve the issue, the laser keeps attempting to go past the disc motor. instead of realizing it has reached the motor pull back and begin reading the disc.

My question is does anyone know how the laser knows that it has reached then end and should begin reading the disc...?

however even this still won't play any games or movies, the laser just creeps up slowly with the disc going a lil faster each try... Can anyone even post a reply for me??!!

One the new Lite On drive F/W CAN BE DUMPED... NOT WRITEN,
so only a drive swap is currently possible and only with correct tools.. here is the progress..

As for the custy who's drive couldn't read any disc, after swapping individual parts i found out his lazer was done... as for my buddies disc read errors... answer was VERBATIM DL DVD's

Yeah I cant find a easy way to mod this drive and theres a lot of threads saying different things.Microsoft also lowered there xbox 360 prices to make fun of us!!!!! This is the weirdest but most complete guide forit, and dont worry in a month or two a new flashable drive will come out or this one will be hacked!!!

Yes, I have been following this drive since it first came out, it was "hacked" only to the point where u could extract the key required to give a "flashable" drive the key it needs to work in your consol, cause this drive is "unflashable" so u can only truly "hack or mod" 360's with these drives by doing a drive swap.... it's still almost more money than it's really worth to do
