I own legit copies of Diablo 2 and the Lord of Destruction expansion. I recently acquired a DVD burner, and i'm looking for assistance with making a working backup of the games on a single DVD-R instead of CDR. I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but the DVD-R forum description is listed as video issues so I thought I would ask here.

    - Mods, feel free to move this post to the correct area if this isn't the right one.

Both pc games are SecuROM cd protected. It is best that you backup to a cd-r. It's a older version of SecuROM so give Alcohol 120% a go and chose the SecuROM *NEW profile. Make sure you read sub-q channel data(96) at 4x, then burn at 4x(play disc).

Ah ok...Making backups to CD shouldn't be a problem, the reason I was asking, is that I am looking to reduce the massive number of CDs I already have lying around. So, I was hoping to find a way to combine the original (3) CDs and the expansion (1) CD together onto a DVD-R so I reduce the number of disks needed. That would also prevent any possibly need for disk swapping since 100% of all files would be on a single disk. I realize its kinda an "outdated" game as far as some people think, but I still dig this game a lot. If anyone has or finds a way to put all these disks onto a single DVD-R, please lemme know.

You can do that by saving all the images of the cd's, then burn to a dvd-r. Making backups to play the game, then you need to burn each individual cd to a cd-r.
Remember to use the SecuROM *NEW* profile for the "play" discs ony, the others you can burn as data. Use A-Ray Scanner to determine what cd's are SecuROM cd protected.
