our estate had a right good power cut tonight, hubby was in the middle of watching a dvd on the pc.
when it came back on and he tried to resume, hed got no sound,,, there is sound at the start when windows is loading, but thats it, no music no you tube sound nothing,,,,,, when he now reboots he gets "Generic Host Process Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close"
i looked at the error report and its someting about szAppName:svnchost.,exe, mdmp??

ive done a google and it says a worm,(just gotten rid of one!!) and gives a complicated set of instructions, like going in "misconfig," and deleting files etc,,,,,,,,,,,
has anyone got any suggestions a blond can understand, and get this sorted??
hes doin a scan etc now,,,,,,nothing showing as a virus, yet,
