did i flash it right?

    if i flashed my drive and it said everything went good. and i tried a bad backup (burned on memorex and was only 6GB)and tried to flash again. but this time it won't dump or flash. does that mean my xbox is flashed already.??? so if a updated firmware came and i used that would it work?
    thanks in advance for any suggeestions
