    @ jared, why dont you just do a basic mobo swap, the you will not have any TA-082 probs in the future, and now that sony see the problems that TA-082 mobos are causing homebrewers, they may come out with a new mobo, with the same idea as a TA-082 but more secure :(

    ya i have never downgraded any psp, because ive had a 1.5 and my bro had the updated one. So im really familular with the scene. But downgrading was one of the most frightful things to ever do, because u feel like something will go wrong. The 2.71 downgrade went perfect! Then i upgraded to 2.0 to get a clean firmware. The 2.0 to 1.5 downgrader was very successful, but it almost gave me a heart attack. That thing was so scary. Came up with black screen with frozen writing. Then at update stopped at 99% and stated contact sony?! I thought I was bricked, turned it off cringed and turned it back on. 1.5 psp from 2.71 psp! yeaa ya.

    Hey guys, just to report that i've successfully bricked my PSP.. Guess maDdoggnz wasn't the only one.. The red screen came up for around a minute or so then it turned black, i restarted and now i've a $200 brick.. :)

    BTW, i checked that it wasn't TA-082 already so i guess it's my luck..

    @maDdoggnz
    Where did you get your PSP? I bought mine in Australia, so might this be a problem?

    i actuley won it from timeout aye it had a few bad pixels in the screen from the first time i turnd it on so i reckon it was dodgy cause i tryed the downgrader again cause i dident want to accecpt the i had fuc*d up lol and it worked fine like nero_123 said sum of us are luckey enuff to not brick and sum of us arent i have downgraded heeps with no problems so i guess it was just my time :( and $40 bucks nz is this good for a psp with a broken screen ? it still plays music so its not brickd and will be able to get some one just to put the screen from my brickd psp in the on with the broken screen ? will that work ok ? its just heeps cheeper than buying a mobo lol

    Yup, i guess it's just my luck. Saw a PSP with a broken screen for $60 on ebay, but don't know how difficult it would be to replace the screen. Anybody who did it before like to comment? Thanks in advance!

    Hi everyone,

    I downgraded my psp from 2.71 to 1.5 with no problems.I initially had a 2.5 psp. So i upgraded it to 2.71 then downgraded it.

    They say it takes about 10 tries before you are able to downgrade it but it worked for me on my first go.

    I was following the guide at this site http://www.pspcrazy.com/index.php?page=Story&id=1331
    and its really easy and simple.

    So yer I have had a successful downgrade. So good luck to all you guys!

    ALL THE BEST

    I Bricked mine. I bought mine in Japan. Would that make a difference. It's not a TA-082 but i used my friend's american psp to get the 1.50 folder. Did it bricked becuase i didn't use japanese 1.50 psp to get the file?

    But nonet the less my psp is fixable i managed to get a japanese 2.0 motherboard. And maybe i can downgrade from there.
