Pro's of 1.50 - - Capibility of all Hombrew - No need for the long GTA Exploit - Suppport for playing Retail games - Much more faster loading of the retail game's - Can get homebrew's of your favourites like Solitaire, Sudoku - Can play your all time classics like Snes or GBA. - More features, Unlock's the full potential of the PSP - It will be waluable in time cause Sony will discontinue making 1.50's Con's of 1.50 - - Needs a big memory stick roughly 1 gig or over. - Has no Web Browser, only hombrew ones which suck. - No more update's for your psp unless you want to lose hombrew compatibility. - Can't choose Wallpaper colour - If you buy off online, people sell for higher cause they no it will go rare.
erm you can play snes or gba games regardless of what version you have. and 1.5 has support to play back-up retail games, or isos which is what 3d meant. video and music playback is easier on 2.01 as they support more formats. you can change your backround on any version psp however having a 1.5 requires you to download an application for it, where as with 2.0 and up you can do it in the psp menu. however you can change it.
you mean PIMP? or PMP? (Psp Media Player) i think it supports avi and other stuff like that, but i've not tried it, i just re-encode my vids to put on the psp 1.5 or the 2.0 [not much of a hastle, just click and go do something else, and come back its done]
yeh i know - i got one that works on 2.01+ but you still had to encode it to psp res or it just crashed i just thought it was stable on 1.5

between 2.01 and 2.6 is basically the same thing. you really have 1.5 psps and other ones, whether it be 2.01,2.5 or 2.6
I had a 2.01 PSP and swapped it with my Dad for his 2.00, which I've now downgraded to 1.50. As far as I can see there are 3 main upsides to having the 1.50; 1)You can play backups or downloads of most retail games from memory stick. 2)You can use the PSP as a remote control *I have yet to try this 3)When you get bored of your PSP, 1.50 will have a far higher value, especially on Ebay etc. The only serious downside as far as I can see, is the inability to play some of the newer games. However, when the PS3 comes out, there's bound to be some pretty cool stuff you can do with it if you have a PSP, but you're gonna need to have whatever the latest firmware is by then;( Don't EVER upgrade if you have a 1.50, you might as well sell it and buy a cheaper second hand psp with a higher firmware imo.
Actually no Con's of PSP 1.50. I have Web Browser, I play all the UMD that need 2.00+ firmware . I browse web without a problem . What else...umm.. U can not play ISO in 2.00+ PSP, that is the fantastic reason i stay in 1.50, Cheers, Viva la PSP 1.50 ..lol
3d has testified that he has gotten Smackdown 2006 to work(iso). Sims2 is a better game for the pc anyway. Splinter doesn't work(thus far).
Every game is better on the PC, that's not really the point. IMO most PSP games are really weak, but they're also the best way overall of playing on a plane etc. How can I get Smackdown to work? I want it so I can get Jake the Snake Roberts and transfer him to my PS2!
3d said he made a dump of the actual Smackdown UMD then did a prx swap. and it worked. Pm him and ask. He likes to help im sure he wont mind.
