I have excessively seen members make mistakes with Byte/bit conversion (especially with file sharing problems) so I have decided to make a small guide about it. Basics: A [bold]bit[/bold] is very different than a [bold]Byte[/bold]. For example 1000 bits (lower case b) = 125 Bytes (capital B) There are also 1024 Bytes in one Kilobyte (capital Kb) A kilobit (once again lower case kb) is much smaller than a Kilobyte (capital Kb). For example, 9000 kilobits = 1125 Kilobytes. 1 Megabyte (capital Mb) equals 1024 Kilobytes (capital Kb) Finally, 1 Gigabyte (capital Gb) equals 1024 Megabytes (capital Mb) Hope this helps with some of the confusion between bits and Bytes. Good luck!
