I am also interested in knowing if there is any software that I can use to watch and record TV shows on my SONY VAIO computer. My SONY VAIO came with both the hardware and software for that purpose. However, I am just getting sick and tired of SONY's GIGA POCKET software because it has so many problems that SONY can't fix.

ok well for capturing cable there are many options. try using virtual dub and virtual vcr (both free) and take a look at this guide for info on how to capture.

If you are loking for something more user friendly and more of a one click solution try myth tv.
But i would say try virtual dub and see if it meets your needs because its very good and its free.

I followed your link and found the instructions but could not find the softwares (virtual dub and virtual VCR)to download. Would appreciate it if you can provide more details on how to get to the download page.
