Hi all, although i can capture video from my digital camcorder i can't get any audio. i am using an s-video conection to the usb port on my pc. if i changed to firewire would i be able to get sound that way or am i really needing to install a sound card. i have integrated sound at the moment on the systemboard. thanks

If you transfer via firewire you'll get sound and better picture quality. Capturing through an analog connection on a DV camcorder requires a digital to analog conversion on the camcorder, followed by an analog to digital conversion on the computer. Firewire will give you an exact copy of the DV video and audio streams on the tape.
