Digivox-T Channels Breaking up and missing

Hello,
I have a Digivox-T for about a month working fine(over 100 channels).
Last couple of days channels are breaking up or getting "Scrambled or Bad Channel"

I "factory reset,powered off at back,rescan,emu to on and set default key and exit out let it update" but they are still breaking up
I also seem to be missing alot of channels(get about 70 channels)

I also tried re-downloading the firmware (v3300) and re-scanning but still the same

When i go to manual scan one of the bad channels like 298.000MHz
level is 83%
Quality 44%
It seems to connect then disconect again and again

Do I need to re-align the aerial or would a amplifier do

 

if the quality it that low you are not getting the full signal to the box
could be the loose cable , misalligned aerial or could be a fault the transmitter mast

 

I replaced the cable from the downconverter to the box but didn't help

Would the amplifier below help boost the low quality

suse103, problem was the god damn power supply. had read before about this issue but it didn't twig with me over the past few days as the reason for this problem. my psu was only 12V (although I thought I read it could deliver more), swapped it out with an 18V and everything is perfect now. interesting though that the 12V was at times adequate to drive the downconverter.. obviously needs a little more ooomph thanks for your help.

Mine is 24DC Output, is this correct voltage for Digivox-T

 

People have been complaing of this issue, usually the PSU with Yagi ariel(build in downconverter) giving this trouble, signal will drop and if you power down for a while it works again for a little while.

Dont think you will have any more probs now - 24V is no harm either!

I have the 24V since day one(was working fine) but i'm getting poor signal now(40% signal quality).

What would you recommend

Re-align aerial, new power supply or aerial amplifier?

 

Not sure if its a Yagi aerial it was installed by Ch**us years ago

 

Only way for sure is have someone watch signal level if you start to play around with aerial, you said you changed cable, make sure outer strands of cable are not in contact with inner core on all F-connectors, keep joinings on cable to a minimun - straight run if possible.
Power supply change might be the first thing to try -borrow one to see before you buy!

 

Looking at the manual scan screen on one of the low quality freq's 298MHz
the signal seems to connect then disconnect,connect then disconnect

Would that indicate bad alignment or power supply

Prob signal level dropping, Also if using antenna with built in DC, PSU's with these can be dodgy and voltage can drop off enough to cause signal failure

My aerial was installed by Ch**us a few years ago, would that have the DC built in?

Most of the channels are ok just certain freq's like 298MHz keep connecting and disconnecting

Is there any point buying an signal amplifier if its connecting and disconnecting?

That power supply you bought seems to have caused alot of hassle for people.
On the other link you provided, the second PSU is the one that Chxxus supply with their equipment and def would be the better option if you can get your hands on one!
As stated earlier, try and borrow one before you invest!

Have digivox T and most of my channels are bad, only about 10 are fine , have a downconverter with splitter in the attic but when I remove the splitter and connect directly to the digivox all the channels are fine. The other room has a chorus box and the channels are ok even with the splitter in line only the digivox T has the trouble . I assume its a power issue so do I just get a 24v down convertor version i have the 18v at the mo. Trouble has only appeared in the last few weeks, any suggestion welcomed.

 

Dont think it's a power supply issue when other box is working fine, first thing to check/replace would be the splitter, or swap the outputs on it to see does other box that is working go bad.
Make sure all fittings are tight and that outer wires in co-axial cable are not commininto contact with inner core!

 

checked both outputs on the splitter (3.6 and 4db) and all work fine for the chorus box but not for the digivox and when I bypass it its fine. Its like as if the digi box has a lower power threshold .

 

What quality level shows on you Digivox when not using splitter?
Could be a case of your signal is marginal, due to misalignment or leaves growing on trees in line of sight and when you split it the signal just isn't strong enough.
From my experience you need absolute minimum quality level of about 55% to get a stable picture.

Got my hands on the power supply ch**us use but it made no difference

I then tried a Interference 12v 100mA power supply i got in town and it brought the signal quality up on all my channels

All now working fine

 

thanks lads ,signal on bad channels are in aroung 36% where the working channels are >45%. Where did you get that Interference 12v 100mA power supply ?
