Hello, I have been trying to update the firmware on my digivox-t unsuccessfully. The message 'Firmware Update failed' is displayed each time I try to download. I am using downloader 10 and version3200 as specified on the sheet that came with it. I want to know what comm settings should I be using or should they be just the default values. I've tried lotsa times turning off and kicking off download as it powers etc as mentioned in other threads. Tried many variations of this without success. Any recommendations? Thanks
most important also what pc/laptop and operating system are u using as the easiest to use is xp with serial/comm port and null modem cable.
I used the serial cable supplied, dell xps laptop with vista os.I have a USB to serial converter and used this as no serial port on laptop. Have used this for programming plc's so shouldn't be an issue. Also tried using pc with xp sp2 os and without convertor as serial port on pc but same flash error message. Looks like it establishes comms ok as no port error messages. Thanks
most problems arise because serial and null modem cables to look at are identical but null modem has a cross over wire in for flashing.
Its a null modem cable alright, came with the unit also. Tried several more attempts and these failed. Tried another laptop with OS 2000 SP4 and download kicked off first time and completed successfully. Auto scan has come back with 0 programs, fit for the bin now. Cheers lads
I've tried both the 'antenna' and the 'ant in'. Booklet indicates that it should be connected to 'antenna'. Down converter is powered up and connected. On that mmds alright. Scans through the freqs very quickly. Does it make much difference if antenna allignment is off slightly, As in it would still pick up some signals? Also should the antenna power be set on / off thanks
was set to on alright, just confirming. Is there a booster unit required if your x distance from source? I'm 14K (8.7M) from it.
