i would think it should say v1230,if it is a new box it wont work as problem was fixed,it would work on earlier xl boxes it would flash,but newer ones it comes up as chdl=bad flash.
try and reflash it with v.1230,do a factory reset 0000 to delete and hook up to pc xp and null modem,download the loader and file to desktop,downloader10 also xl firmware v1230 open downloader and click on browse to locate file v.1230 click on it to open which brings u back to downloader hook up pc with null modem cable and power on box and click download u should see blue progres box moving accross wait till it does finish and box reboots before u unplug cables
