DILEMA: HELP

    Hey I have a Laptop WIth Win Xp Pro and I just built my computer can I put the same software that my laptop had and use that same product key..Or Would I have to buy a Brand New Win XP Pro and Install Win XP to my computer with a differnt product key??

    To be perfectly Legal you should have a second set of software with a second product key.

    If you choose to install the same set on the second computer anyway, you will probably run into Activation problems. And more problems when you try to Update either system on the Windows site.

    I would choose the simpler route!

    All I have is the Recovery CD that the Laptop came with..I couldn't us that on my PC..could I?? Does the recovery cd bring win xp os..or is it specifically made for that laptop.. DOnt wanna try anything risky till I know the hard facts..

    I suspect that the Recovery disk is made for the one system that it came with. Never had to use one so I can't say for positive. Just seems reasonable to me.

    Still, I would not try to put the same system/product key on two computers. What I said before.
