    FMBC V1.5 works very well. I have tested it on these consoles;
    30001:35001:50001 and 70012. Keep in mind this still will not work with a boot type MC (One that needs a PS2 MC card to Load it) and some of the cheaper ones. FMBC comes with all the files you need.
    The ESR disc patcher patches DVD-R and DVD+R, both work! (Verbatim DVD+R and Sony DVD-R are the only ones I have used/tested so far)
    TIP: For those who do not know; If you want to play a backup that is NOT patched, you can use a DVD Movie Disc. To do it, put the Movie in Before you turn on the console (You will need the MC set to go to the Ule browser) when Ule loads, replace the DVD with your backup then start the ESR Beta r8 dvdvdirect.elf
    TIP2: The ESR DVD r8 elf also works in the independance exploit

    That is something I didn't know. That you could switch a DVD movie for the backup.
    Good for those that don't want to patch all their old backups

    If you have managed to install McBoot into your memory card, do the following:

    1. Get a USB pen drive. (FAT or FAT32 formatted)
    (1a. Plug it into your PC.)
    2. Create a BOOT folder.
    3. Copy uLaunch.elf to that BOOT folder.
    4. Rename /BOOT/uLaunch.elf --> /BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    5. Now, plug that USB pen drive into your PS2.
    6. Power on your PS2 without any DVD.
    7. uLaunch will be executed automatically.

    8* If you want to have uLaunch executed without having to plug a USB pen, copy mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF to mc0:/BOOT folder.

    Yes just move it to folder named "BOOT" on your USB drive.

    Now boot up the PS2 with the usb in and ulaunch should load up.

    Here is tutorial on uLe and it will show you how to copy files from your usb drive.

    1. Launch uLaunch.
    1a. Initiate the fileBrowser.
    2. Go to mass:
    3. Go to /BOOT
    4. Mark BOOT.ELF (with the cross)
    5. Press R1
    6. Select "Copy" (remember to select this option with the circle)
    7. Go to mc0:
    8. Go to /BOOT (Or "/B?DATA-SYSTEM/" if you have title names on folders enabled)
    9. Press R1.
    10. Select "mcPaste"
    11. Enjoy.

    Copy the entire BOOT folder to your MC, Not just boot.ELF.
    Do not Name your Boot folder BOOT.ELF (in case you did)
    Paste it to your MC. Do not paste in a folder that is already on your MC. It will make the Boot Folder for you.

    If you already had fmcb installed to mc, and you said it worked as long as you had the usb drive in the PS2

    Then just do what Rebootedc said in how to copy the BOOT.ELF to mc

    Then you should only have to reboot PS2 without the usb drive in, and it should load up.
