direct connection to the internet and router

    how do you figure whether you're connected directly to the internet or whether you're behind a router? sorry if this is such a noob question...

    Well, do you have a router? What type of internet connection do you have? Whats the IP address of the computer? If it starts with 192.168 or 10.0, then you have a private IP which means you are behind a router.
