Hi guys, I would just like to know, if anyone has the knowledge, is it possible to just do a direct read and burn of a backup? I mean, can you take a backup and just rip and burn? Thanks!
Not difficult, admittedly, but seeing as I'm a newbie I neglected to read through the stickies. I assumed since I did a thorough google search and unearthed only one page on another forum where no one knew what they were talking about that I wouldn't find anything here. It's hard to search for a double term, as in "backup backups"... I assure you I'll look there first before posting so as to avoid offending you in the future.
Yes, you have offended me. The only way to appease me is to sacrifice a virgin. But seriously though, there is a lot of useful info in the sticky which could help cut down your time waiting for others to respond. On a side note, you'll also want to use quality media when burning dual layer games.
Yeah it's true, I wish I had read the sticky yesterday! It was good of you to refer me there, I didn't know there was such a helpful compendium of knowledge available to us. A lot of the time it's just such a simple question I have that I can never seem to find the answer to. I use Verbatim almost exclusively, so I think I should be ok to go ahead and copy them. I do have some older discs though that are lower-quality memorex brand, do I run a chance of having corrupt data without knowing it? I mean, could IMGBurn verify it only to have the game crash halfway through?
It is possible to make a bad copy if your original copy is bad. Memorex is known to break down quicker due to the low quality dye.
Well the games that I'm looking to copy I've already played through, so I hope it won't be an issue. If it does mess up though, I'll know what the problem is. Thanks!
