Hi there, hope this is the right subforum.

I want to capture a certain .wmv stream and save it as a flash file directly.

It's a fragment of a longer videostream (an interview of a longer tv show) which I want to upload as a .FLV to YouTube.

Besides not knowing how to rip it as .FLV file directly, there's the problem that I can't seem to be able to rip just this fragment (which I CAN watch seperetaly in WMP though) so I'll have to download the entire show. Orbit Downloader for instance isn't able to capture it, only the full video. So then I'll have the full .wmv file ripped (using WMRecorder), cutting out that one fragment and saving that as another .wmv (using Windows Movie Maker), and than quality worsens again by YouTube also converting it (to .flv) when uploading the fragment. The original online stream quality isn't the best already, so I don't want to convert it to .flv after ripping. I want it ripped as a .flv!

here is the link of the fragment, to watch in WMP (copy/paste in 'Open URL'):
    http://cgi.omroep.nl/cgi-bin/stream...20051017.asf?start=0:3:55.542&end=0:11:47.669

and here the link to the stream online (video only plays in IE):
    http://dewerelddraaitdoor.vara.nl/Video-detail.628.0.html?&no_cache=1&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=11118&tx_ttnews[backPid]=626&tx_ttnews[cat]=238

So, is there a program for ripping .wvm to your PC as .flv? Like, the same way it's possible to capture youtube (.flv) files as .avi and other file types using vixy.net.

If not, what would be the best way to have it on YouTube with as much original quality as possible?

You could try replay media catcher.
Once the part comes that you want the video to end at, right click on the capture filename and select "stop and save recording"

Hi, it sounds easy, you can convert your wmv file to flv with a video converter or something like this.
