i just got this today, and i noticed 2 usb ports... in the manual all it says is that they are.. "for future use"

do you guys know what these are for?

is there any simple way to get my recorded files over to the computer to burn to a dvd?

Does anyone know what filesystem the hdd uses.. i may just try to upgrade the hdd if you guys think its possible

There never will be any "future use".

DirecTV has gone to its own proprietary DVR now. They will support existing Tivo subscribers; but will offer no upgrades.

There is a website you can purchase kits to enable the USB ports and allow some basic networking. I'm not sure of the name of the sites though.

You can upgrade the hard drive.... again with kits available.

Hi, I too am curious about the USB port on my Directv r15. It's now three months after the last response: anything new? Thanks, xerby
