Hey all, I have a nVidia Geforce 7950 GX2 graphics card and im also running Windows Vista Home Premium aswell. So i was wondering can I enable Directx10 graphics? So far on the Bioshock Demo it wont let me enable it. Also for Crysis, I try to play it in DX10 by right clicking it and selecting Play in DX10 in the Games Explorer but nothing loads. Just a quick flick of the screen then nothing. So can anyone tell me what to do in order to run DX10 enabled games with DX10 graphics. Thanks, MSAA Also I have got Company Of Heroes/Opposing Fronts aswell.
Errr, last time i checked, the 7950 GX2 wasn't a DX10 card Any of the new 8 series cards will support DX10. Even though your card is a good one, and can still beat some of the 8 series cards in games (FPS wise), it'll never be able to do DX10, it's old hardware. Either keep with this card and put up with DX9, or shell out £175 (Though in the US they're sub $300) for an 8800GT 512MB...
I thought it would be bcause under this page http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US/Hardware/Pages/VideoCards.aspx it says that the Nvidia GeForce 7950 is DX10 Supported. But if it isn't, ill probably buy a new card next year
Well, then they're wrong. Only the 8 series from nvidia and the 2*00 and HD 38*0 series cards are DX10 compatible. The 3 series from Ati are DX10.1 compatible, as well as backwards compatible with Dx9 and DX10. Only ATi offers that right now.
