ok i know this sounds noobish but, i have two messed up xboxes with software problems. if i got an xbox off of ebay with a bad disc drive could i put my disc drive in there even if they werent the same version, or would my disc drive have to be the same version as the xbox i buy off of ebay. thanks for the help.
Do you mean the hard drive? if so, the xbox won't work. Xbox can't unlock the hdd because the eeprom is different.
