I just recently softmodded my xbox and put the evox dashboard on there. I opened it up with FTP and put the game Fable:TLC on there from my computer. Don't worrying, I am not pirating. I own the disc. Anyways, when I got the whole game on there, it said Fable:TLC under games and when I clicked on it, it said it was loading but then it comes up with an error saying there is a problem with the disc. It may be dirty or damaged. The thing is, I don't even have a disc in the tray. I'm trying to load it straight from the HD. I have searched around trying to find the answer to my problem before I posted but with no success so I decided I would just post myself and see what I can get. I have read about "Flashing" and "Bios" and all that and I'm not sure if I need to do any of that to get this to work or if Evox has all that already. Thanks for your help in advance.
I haven't heard about this problem though if it's known to be working then it could only be the cache that is holding it back. To clear the cache use a file manager or ftp into the xbox and delete the contents of the folder located in E/Cache. Remember to delete the contents only, not the folder. Try to reload your xbox game and see what happens. We used to have this problem a long time ago with games freezing after you played them only once. Clearing the cache fixes these freezing issues, it's a shot in the dark with a "dirty disc error". Good luck
I appreciate the help but that's one thing I tried before I posted. Still no success. I didn't get to play it at all. Who knows, maybe a bad file or something. I don't have to flash the bios or anything though do I? Just having the game on the HD and no disk in the tray, it still should work?
My earlier reply seems to have got lost.. FTP a disk contents to your pc and back to the xbox hdd isn't adequate.. DDE.. The disk has media checks which need to be removed, and the xbe needs patching to run from the HDD.. dvd2xbox is designed to do that for you.. so use it to put the game on the HDD instead of just ftp.. which doesn't work.. also.. a stock softmod may not have enough room if the game is over 3 gigs in size.
