i have had a goodmans gdvd 300r recorder for abou ta year now and for the last few weeks it seems to have given up on ejecting discs , prior to this it seemed to not want to format discs when i did manage to get one in , there is also a kind of long delay when i switch it on before the tv kicks in and displays , has anyone experienced these kind of things and what do they relate to please ?
I'm having exactly the same problem with my Goodmans GDVD300R. It won't eject or read a DVD. Did you find out what is wrong and if there is a solution.
hi very interesting indeed that someone else has had exactly the same problem as i had , i really wish i could advise something more useful now , but in as brief as i can summarize this is what i did , i bought my goodmans ( a brand i shall try to avoid if at all possible in future ) from a mail order catalogue , and the only real luck i had was that after not doing anything for valuable weeks or months i happened to check when i ordered this thing , and i was just a couple of weeks still inside the guarantee period , so i called them and got it picked up and refused any goodmans as a replacement , i am still waiting for a philips h/d + dvd recorder to be delivered from them . i just assumed it was my bad luck , i had not even used it that much to be honest so i was pretty shocked when it went moody on me . just for an academic kind of thing i would still like to know why it should suddenly have locked up like that . anyway sorry i cant give you anything more useful than a trivial telling of my story with this model . good luck in your research , if you can find the goodmans website ( assuming you have not already ? ) maybe they can help , but from my experience bush, alba and goodmans do not seem very good at all on customer support and if anything they seem to try and evade customers contacting them . cheers
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately the DVDR is now out of warranty and the repair company that I phoned said that it wouldn't be worth fixing which is why I thought I'd try searching the internet for a solution. The DVDr is my Dad's and he got it over a year ago and said that he used it twice. Value for money, eh!!!
thats real bad luck , and a confirmed red light on anything " workhorse" like from the goodmans stable for me anyway . clocks and radios hmmmmmm ok , tvs and dvd recorders i do not think so . all the best and of course on the upside no matter what one place tells you , another may come through with just the solution you need . good luck towards that goal !
I have another Goodmans GDVD300R which won't eject discs! If anyone discovers a fix; please let me know.
