I just replaced my PVR-802W laser in my ps2 slim, and now it won't spin the discs anymore. When I turn the slim on, the laser will move to the center of the disc and blink, then not move. If I go to the browser, it will show "reading disc" for a split second, then it'll go away, as if the ps2 didn't know there was a disc in there.

    Are there any solutions?

I can't seem to find an edit button, so sorry for the double post.

The disc WILL spin if I put the old laser in, but not the new laser, and I did not forget to remove the solder point.

The edit button is a little txt icon with pencil at top right of your post.

I really don't know what the problem is if you desoldered the anti-static points.

Faulty laser perhaps, even though its new?

I discovered that there seemed to be two points, or at least, one was rather messy so i cleaned it up, and it worked.

    Thanks, anyway.

What solder points are you referring to? I have the same problem where the disk isn't spinning. Thanks in advance for any help.

They are shown below depending upon which laser in the slim you are replacing
