I recently posted a thread asking for help of a problem with my 60gb ipod 5G, as it kept pausing. someone suggested that I restore my iPod which seems to have done the trick (thanks) but im now having problems of a different kind. nothing major, just slightly annoying. before i restored, whenever itunes had finished updating, I was able to browse through my ipod with out clicking the "eject" button in itunes. since the restore, this is impossible, the ipod screen just displays "do not disconnect". its not a major problem, but if it is fixable id be happy. ive also only got 1.0 firmware, but before the restore this was the same. also, quick yes or no, should i upgrade to 1.1?
Hi craig2402, welcome back. It will display the 'do not disconnect' icon on your iPod even when your iTunes is permitting your to browse through it. You don't need to eject the iPod, just set your iPod to 'Manually Update All Songs & Playlists'. You aren't supposed to eject your iPod, as this will disconnect it from the PC and place it into charging mode. Once you have set your iPod to manual update, [bold]then[/bold] connect it to your computer and you should have full browsing capabilities.
No way. It has numerous problems reported by almost everyone who uses it. I definantly wouldn't suggest upgrading until 1.2 comes out. I have never been able to do this on mine. I didn't think you could until you said something. Mine just stays on the "Do not disconnect" screen as well. Not sure if it is a problem or that is just how it is.
