At random points, even when I am not using my computer, our internet connection will drop, and then reconnect a couple seconds later. I am connected through a Linksys router but it is not the router's problem. It is the silver thing the router is connected to (modem?). It will beep once and then disconnect. The connection light will go out and then come back on when it connects a few seconds later. This is really annoying as I cannot do video chat or play any online games with my PS3. Any help is appreciated. Oh yeah, my ISP is comcast and this problem is the worst when i use uTorrent.
disconnect the power & data cables to the modem, count 20 seconds then reconnect the power & data cables in that order.
