Hey guys, I am new to this wii stuff and there does not seem to be a lot of info that is new. Can someone tell me the latest and greatest chip, and is there a way to run backup games without a chip.....thanks
Brewgod23: The best way is to open up your Wii, as right now there are not accurate guides on how to tell which revision you have without opening it up. Because sometimes when a serial tells you, you have a D2B then you open it up and find out you have a D2C and vice versa. redlevel: I would recommend the WiiKEY it has the biggest following / community of users with the chip. Also I do not think they have a way to run backups without a modchip at this time.
Is there any work being done on a Wii DVD drive firmware update like the xbox 360? Why couldn't that be done?
jimmy i pm u, did u receive my message? so where do i get a wii from canada, it's ok to talk here. it's nothing personal or anything.
Ill get back to you later tonight or early tomorrow, its my birthday and I am partying a bit. Just came up to turn my PC off. But dont worry I will get back to you.
i'll be honest, for the 4 wiis i've done with the wiikey, i've had no probs, cept for ikaruga, but i think that is audio streaming bug which if i'm not mistaken will be fixed soon, but other than that it's a top notch chip......
I ordered my wii chip and case installation from http://www.xbox-modchips.com/wii-mod-installations.htm but dont know whats next. Anyone else order from this site and know what the next step is? Like, where I ship it to ect...?
As it states on the site where you clicked add to cart: WE HAVE LOCAL INSTALLERS IN MOST COUNTRIES SO YOU WILL NOT HAVE YOUR CONSOLE CROSS ANY BORDERS! YOU WILL BE CONTACTED VIA EMAIL WITHIN 6 - 72 BUSINESS HOURS(usually less) AFTER ORDERING WITH OUR CLOSEST INSTALL LOCATIONS ADDRESS AND SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS. You should receive your email with instructions shortly, if not already.
john: sorry, Ill send you the details tonight. I assumed you had found one at a local walmart/eb/gamestop/ other store...
Just a quick question and I dunno if it's been asked (hope it hasn't) but can a Japanese Wii modded with a Wiikey play English gamecube games or just Japanese gamecube games.
jimmy never mind, i got the wii already. thanks anyway.. i will try to get the wii modchip maybe after one month or so. btw, why is xboxinstall website online chat is always offline?
I have a similar question to Fiddyuan. The only place online I've seen a Wii for the original price is at superufo.com, but it is the Japanese console. Will I be able to change the menus, etc to English and play all regions Wii and GC games (with a modchip obviously)?
You can play some NTSC-J (japan) games on your modded Wii's but I do not think you can change your menu's.
Everyone with an official WIIKEY prepare for a new update coming this week, most clones will not be able to be updated. There will be some neat new features. Stay Tuned
