Before you order any chip for your Wii console guys, you should check the serial number of your Wii using the the link below to make sure you do not have a Wii console with the D2C chipset. Wii Serial Checker There is a new chip that has been just released for these Wii D2C consoles, the name of the new chip is D2CKey We heard that these chip's will be in stores around the middle of Oct, but the D2CKey will be 28-wires and much harder to install. Currently the D2CKey is the only solution for D2C consoles. The official site for the D2CKey is www.d2ckey.com
these new mod chips are coming out on the 16th, but there arnt any install pics or any other info other than its a hard install. has any body seen some solid info on this chip? also thanks for the update, ive beed sitting on a wiikey for a month now cuz i didnt know about the d2c chip. (sigh)
The install diagrams are up on their site Fiend06, below is the link for you. D2CKey Install Diagrams
o_0 I dont know about that install. i think id rather wait for an update on the chip with better mapping. i could see those legs fusing togther reall quick. whos wii was that installed to?
fiend06 - Not likely to happen. It looks like this is a programmable D2C (MN102LF) chip that they are piggy-backing to the drive chip. They have taken a D2B ROM and flashed it to the new chip, enabling the serial Xfer, plus added some extra programming so that an Atmel or PIC isn't required, like the WiiKey was. They could make this truly piggy-back with out the wiring, it would clip right on top of the board chip with the new chip socketed to the board chip, if there is clearance for that. We will probably see something down that line eventually. I have 3 brand new WiiKeys if anyone is interested.
i understand that it is a "bypass" for the new chip and i give props to those that created, but i remember back in the day of PS mod chips, that as time went by, the number of connections dropped. the first one i did for the PS had 20 wires, and the last one i did was only 6. i predict something similar. good luck to those trying it out and please let us all know how it's going!
is there a mod for the newer so called "unmoddable" wiis yet? i really want to know cuz thats the reason i bought a wii... to mod it lol... i really need the mod and ive heard that some people have found out a way to mod the unmoddable wiis but not sure if there lieng or not so is there a mod for the unmoddable yet?
D2C, its clearly stated: <a href="http://img451.imageshack.us/my.php?image=d2coy5.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img451.imageshack.us/img451/1971/d2coy5.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>
runezerg - d2c is said to be the "unmoddable" chipset for wii.. but now it might be moddable.. its with a chip called d2ckey.. they release on oct 20th so u'll just have to check back after to see if ppl got it working.. but a warning for that chip.. it requires 28 wire connections.. so u better be good at soldering with tons of patience or just get a pro to do it haha..
lol kk thnx thats just wat i needed but i started serching the web and found its comin out on the 15th... is it 15th or 20th?
depends where you are... this is from their official site "D2CKey Pre-release Announcement - 2007-10-10 We are pleased to announce the official pre-release of D2CKey! Small quantities of the chip have been sent to a selected number of distributors. The official full release is scheduled for October 20th 2007 when D2CKey will be available globally."
so guys !! i read this site i mean thread about wii chip , im still got a question wich chip is better , wiinja or cyclowiz , and where can i send the console to do that job modded !? thanks guys
wiinja is good, i've tried wiinja works fine. Equally as fine is wiikey , working great. if you have d2c chipset, d2ckey is reported working by modders all around. pm me for services.
I've read through this thread but the information changes so rapidly. I have an original Wii from back in 2006. I have a chance to get a cyclowiz v1 for $10 or any of the other chips. Based on the data today, which is the better choice? The cyclowiz guys advertise on their site that their chip is superior to wiikey and that it also now supports wiifree firmware updates as well. http://www.cyclopswiz.com/ The cyclowiz v2 with on/off switch is also an option but is more expensive. I want to be able to play online and also make backups of my games and play them online. Is the off switch needed to be in stealth mode or can I just get the cyclowiz v1 and then put on the latest firmware and still be ready to go. Some advice from the wii veterans would be great.
