yup np. I like ordering online, because it's cheaper, but the shipping can sometimes be a pain. I'm still waiting on my Headphones and ipod.
Haha, turns out the payment hasn't appeared on the credit card statement. I need to learn to be more patient, but damnit I want to play Brawl! Already have the single layer burned and ready, just need the Wiikey. >>
I hate to double post but my Wiikey STILL hasn't shipped yet. As far as I can tell, the payment has yet to go through and it's been six days since I placed the order. I ordered from modchipstore.com Could someone recommend me an alternative website that could ship it to me and have it on my doorstep within about 3-5 days? I found this site, http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/home.php but I don't know how reputable it is. Anyone have any experience with this one? Thanks.
Yeah that site is really good. I ordered mine from there and it came like in a week. They also aren't clones for sure.
hey i just wanted to know if i get my wii modded with the d2ckey or d2pro will i be able to play both copied PAL GAMES and NTSC GAMES???
Yes you would need to set the proper region jumper as well as connect points 5,6,7,8 for it to work though. Also recommended site www.canadamods.ca , I get systems to do installs on from them often, answer some of their tech questions and all my big orders are placed with them unless its something they dont carry then there are a few other places I buy from as well. I know they recently(within the last week) changed their shipping methods to a better service. So its an active store. Really anyone on the distributors sites should be ok though. From D2PRO Site: Distributors If you wish to resell d2pro, please contact one of our distributors. A resellers list will be made available once d2pro has been released. hi, I'm used to soldering smaller electronics but when I installed my wiikey, I F&@$% up. Fortunately the wii still plays original, but the problem is, the drive will only accept discs at startup or eject. when I turn it on, it starts the wii eating motor to take a disc in, even if there's none near it, and reverses if I don't feed it one. and when I eject, it spits it out and keeps running, like it doesn't know if it's out, and It then will reverse and can take another disc in and play it. It won't take them unless I use this method. It just doesn't start the drive. It still will play games, but only in this fashion. I don't think I bridged any connections, but I could be wrong. I might have shorted a circuit that controls this. has anyone experienced this or related problems when installing their wiikey? I'm afraid to take out the wiikey, due to crappy quicksolder. but is there hope? am I stuck with a wiitarded system? thanks
That sounds really bad. I would send it off to some website and see if they can fix it for you...I botched my Wiikey install aswell (but the drive thing never happened) and I sent it off to modchipfitters.com and in a couple of days it seems great (and replacement chip works aswell). They offer a repair service, so they may be able to help, but they are a bit pricey.
I was just wondering why the wiikey so far isn't able to play any virtual console games that you put on backups for example N64 games. I mean if the wii can play virtual console games, then why can't the wiikey play them when they are backeduped on to blank DVDs yet?
Hm, I have a question... I bought today the Wiikey chip, and an LG dvd driver. Well, I bought WiiKey in www.divineo.es (from spain) And I want to make sure that the chip from spain will work with my Wii from US. Is there any problem with that? I'm at time to cancel the order.
Did you fill in the gnd & pwr completely? I think if you did then its perhaps bridging with some other point causing this. Best thing is to take out the chip carefully. Using two irons is probably the best method if you can do it. Use desolder wick & a solder sucker to help get rid of most the solder first. Becareful not to lift any pads as its quite easy to. If youre local (in Canada) then I can probably help.
My guess is that you will only be able to launch these via channels of the Wii, and actually modify the firmware in doing so. This process of softmod is still very early stages and may not be around for quite a while. Homebrew may eventually lead to this process being able to run, but homebrew is very difficult if not impossible at the moment.
recently my dad took my wii to be chipped by a friend at work(I think it would be easier to diy) when it comes back I want to know the whats whys etc. firstly frimware how do I update without ninty bricking my wii? games do i need a certain dvd burner? can i use homebrew channels and things? and any other noob info I might find usefull by the way I dont know what chip it is.
I want to install my wiikey on my d2b wii. Is it better to use wires or to just solder the chip without wires? Some of the people I know who soldered with wires had more issues with their wii than those who didnt use wires.
