Does anyone know if Disgaea Hour of Darkness is compatible with SwapMagic 2.0? I recently bought it off ebay (60.00 :/) and backed it up. When I go to play the game I boot up and I get the blue bar that says it loaded fine. However when it loads, all it has is sound, no picture at all. This is the first occurance of such problem I have ever had.

I seen it on a compatible lis there for the 3.0 version, however, its not on the swapmagic site at all as if it is or not. So anyone know?

Well it comes up on an emulater just fined, but not on my ps2.

So if it isn't swapmagic what else could it be? The backup was wan, works on comp, just no picture in the ps2.

They are. All my other backups are working fine to. And as I said, it works fine with the emulater. Its just this one game that won't work, so I thought it was the swapmagic version. However someone said it works with their swapmagic 2.0. So now im at a loss.

Depends on one's interpretation of 'working fine'.
Personally, I wouldn't consider a game running at 3fps as 'working fine'.

Did the original disc work fine in your PS2?
Cos I reckon you've got an NTSC version & are trying to play it on a PAL TV that doesnt support 60Hz NTSC signals (or vice versa)

It runs between 35-40 FPS using AA 4x. Yes, the original games works on my TV and is NTSC. Didn't think the region code would even matter when using swap magic. The TV is NTSC also.

As further note, incase Ebay being the scam it is, and a PAL game inside a NTSC box (which wouldn't make sense since original plays). The elf file is SLUS and not SLES.

rydis can you post a screenshot of you playing the game in pcsx2 and this incredible fps.

edit - did some research and actually the fps you claim is achievable with a good spec system.

well, the Swapmagic 3.8 game today and I can't get it to work with none of my backups. Whenver I try to boot it goes to the ps2 browswer, shows the memory card then tells me the dvd is not valid. It came with no insturctions whatsoever, so I have no idea what specia, smboot do and site isn't work. I trid everything but no matter what I load it goes right to browser and will give me the red non valid disc error even with my backups that the 2.0 works with.

As for your screenshots. Once it passed the actual beginnging it dropped :/. So without AA it wasn't all bad. Still I rather play it on the ps2.

Well finally got it to load with the new swapmagic and still nothing.

You seen Screenshots above that it works in emulater. So does anyone have any idea why this isn't working in ps2?

Because the PS2s reader isnt anywhere near as good as a PC reader, and you need to be using really good media.

Using TY DVD+R. Same as all my other backups that work.

I dont rate TY at all, especially +R discs.

Try it on RITEK G05 -Rs, bet it'll work then.
