Hi lodgekey, My guess is thats not very likely. No phone line connection, no access card so no way to back check. If they see the dish and someone asks about it just say its not in use. Most systems are installed by independent people so they really don't know who has what. Paint over the dish name and they don't know what system its tied to originally. Just my opinion.

This is also ironically why cable cos took awhile to make digital cable. Digital cable tracks your every move to target more specific advertising to you etc.

Eventually they are working on a two way thing for sateelites but that's also why satellite internet costs so much...like satellite tv costs less than cable but a cable modem is nearly the same.

The other thing with sats is that there's other things that the companies never thought of. For example there's ways of getting canadian satellite which is cheaper but it's a gray area legally.

Another is having more than one house per account. Some retailers will sell you more boxes so you have more than one tv hooked up. Well people found out if they simply bought another satellite they could split an account with friends so a $60 plan turned into a $20 plan. Again since the companies cannot track the receivers it can't get found out.
