disk cleanup problem

    this may seem like a dumb question but when i try to use the disk cleanup utility in win XP, it will just hang when it starts when its calculating the space that is availible to clean up and i wasn wondering if there is any other program that does this same task that disk cleanup in win xp does?? thx
