    @calonlan
    1st thing - let's edit out the serial # - don't want someone else using it! It begins w/ 1A.
    Your Nero is a bit outdated - update Nero to 6.6.0.18 - here's a link:
    http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe

    Even though your firmware is up to date - your drive can't read the id. This is where Nero will show the manufacturer id - all it knows is that it's a +R. Which brand of discs are you using? That may be your problem.
    This is also telling you your drive doesn't like the discs. Try Tiyo Yuden, Verbatim or made in Japan Maxell.
    You're also burning at your drives max speed - may want to try 2x.
    I'll also request to have this post moved to the Nero forum.

    Can you be a little more specific as to what you are attempting to do such as back up a movie, burn AVI files????

    Your drive appears to be up to date

    Thanks for the advice.

    I will update the nero program as suggested.

    I am unsure what disk I am using as there is no branding on them, is there a program which can tell me?

    Thanks

    Ritek R03 are okay discs. If they are giving you a problem though I would pick up some Verbatims or Made in Japan Fuji,Sony or Maxell.
    Let us know how it turns out - good,bad or otherwise!

    Are you using a program such as AnyDVD or DVD Decrypter to break the copy protection of the movie?
