First off...I'm glad I've found this site. I'm sure to have many questions as well as answers for people who like making "back-ups"...you know, in case the one we bought messes up and not the ones that you might have delivered to your door every other day or so. Anyway, I tried burning The Lion King a while back and had no issues with my program DVD43 & 1ClickDVDcopy, but when I played it I got squat. I was just curious are there issues with Disney or something? I've got a few new programs that are newly updated and I've been able to burn all the new releases (FD3 was a biotch)I just wanted to know in case I get more of the Disney animated DVDs cuz Lion King was the only one I tried. Please let me know what your take is so my girlfriend will leave me alone about her damn Lion King. ^

Ditch DVD43 and use RipIt4Me to rip your movie to HDD and then process with DVD Shrink and burn with Imgburn...here is a mini tut on how to backup your movies using this method:

All programs needed to use this method are available for download via the GUI.

You can also use DVDFab Decrypter (free) to rip the entire movie to your HDD while removing all the movies encryption, then use 1Click as usual.

    http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

    and here is a guide

    http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=51904

This is what to do if you are having trouble backing up your movies:

Here is the free way of making perfect backups:

    1) DVDFab Decrypter - this wil break the movies encryption while ripping the movie to your HDD

    http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

    2) VobBlanker - Not always needed, but it will get rid of any protection that DVDFD left behind. VobBlanker also allows you to blank, replace, cut and strip titles.

    3) DVDShrink - this will allow you to compress the movie to fit onto a blank DVD-5 disc. Select your output as an ISO image

    4) Imgburn - the best free burner around

    Here are some guides:

    The other free option:

RipIt4Me. I do not know anything about ripit4me so I will leave you with the excellent guide by arniebear. You can also download RipIt4Me from the same link.

    The other way $$$$$

Anydvd works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie. All you have to do is start up anydvd and continue using your normal compression engine, whether it's shrink, recode or clonedvd, It's that easy.

Before you pay for this excellent program you have a 21 day trial

What else to do to insure good quality back ups:

    1) Update your dvdwriters firmware

    2) Invest in good quality media Taiyo Yuden and Verbatims are best. Also look out for Maxell,Sony,Fuji, MIJ's (made in Japan) these are also extremely good blank media.

    3) Burn @4x is a good place to start
