For some unknown reason everytime I unpack a file with winrar it disappears. It unpacks fine but when I check the folder it's not there. I try to unpack it again and winrar says that these files already exist would you like to replace. I have used all the same progams and settings for years with no problems. Please can someone help.
It could be that you have an anti-virus software on deleting it. if so turn your anti-virus off for a bit and try to unpack again on your desktop (so you can see it unpack). if that doesn't work. The file maybe unpacking as a hidden file. If so. to look at hidden files go to My Computer, then go to the Tools or(View) menu and click Folder Options. After the new window appears select the View tab. Under the Hidden files and folders section select the tab/button labeled Show hidden files and folders. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide file extensions for known file types. Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files. Press the Apply button and then the OK button and shutdown My Computer.
