Divx 3 to Divx 5 Conversion?

    Having searched through the archives I was unable to find a corresponding thread to my request.

    I am relatively new to video conversion and having recieved an Archos AV700 for Christmas I decided to load up some of my favourite films.

    The Archos plays DIVX5 and my films are in DIVX3, how can I convert the DIVX3 accordingly with minimal loss of quality?

    There is a modified version of ffmpeg that can convert DivX3/MS MPEG-4 V3 to ISO MPEG-4 without re-encoding. You then just need to specify DX50 as the fourCC.
