    Hello
I want to find out if my DVD player will play divx/xvid movies. So i want to burn some movies to CD. I do not want to convert them to vcd or svcd i just want to burn the movies as they are to cd.
I just wanted to know what program to use.
Sorry if i am posting this in the wrong place but the Divx forum said no playback q's and the CD forum said no video related q's.

    Thanks for any help

You can use any program which allow you to burn data CD's, like Roxio or Nero.

Hey thank you for the reply
I was under the impression that the cd had to be made in a video format so the stand alone dvd player can recognise it. But i will try it with a data cd and test it thanks for your reply.

Well i have tested it and my player (Panasonic dmr e55) does not play divx/xvid movies.
Oh well i will have to stick to encoding divx to dvd for four hours at a time.
I must see if my player can handle KVCD, wish me luck.

Divx CD's must be burned in data mode because there's really not another way, if you would make them in video format you should convert them so they wouldn't be Divx's anymore.

This is good site to check out abilities of different DVD players: http://www.videohelp.com/
