    Hi everyone,
I've recorded a video with my cam which gave me a .vob file.
I wanted to do some edit so, I converted it to .avi file using VirtualDubMod, using DivX 6.8.5 codec (2 Logical CPUs), but the video was unwatchable- the quality was horrible.
Is there something to do to make the video quality better?
Is it also possible to fix the quality of the video that I've already converted?

Assuming the quality of the source was good, after selecting the compressor, click 'Configure'.
Increase the bitrate from the default (up to perhaps 1200).
Select a small clip to test the output (use the slider and the start/stop flags.

    Thanks for the reply.
I did what you said, but the quality is still bad. The quality of the source video is very good.
Is there anything else that might help?

All I can suggest is that a (very) small clip be saved as 'Uncompressed' and see if that is ok.
I would expect a good source to give a good output using the DivX codec - but you might want to try the XviD codec, just in case there is some sort of problem with your version - but I am using the same version as yourself without problems.

try dr divx 2.0 (it's free) it'll use your divx codec to convert your vob's. That gives me very good results.

Watch out.. a lot of cams make half D1 interlaced video.. upscaling the 360 to 720 always looks nasty
