Divx Files being read on a DVD player on a DVD

    I am looking in the market for a DVD player that will play Divx files. My only beef if you will is that i want to have them be able to be played on DVD +/- r After doing some research it seems that most play back Divx files on burned CD-R. Dose anyone know of a cheap DVD / Divx player that will do this? Thanks

    I am not aware of any MPEG-4/AVI players that can't play back .divx/.avi files from DVD. Only thing is that most have trouble with UDF. Only an issue if your files are 2+GB's though.

    So just about all DVD players that play AVI / Divix should have no problem reading them on a DVD, The biggest files i have are about 800 mb, any special way to burn them to dvd?

    Like I said, stick with ISO. Other than that it should be fine.

    phillips dvp642 will do this

    I use Nero and burn 5-6 xvid/divx movies as a data dvd. plays fine
