DivX Media Format....

    I was looking at divx's page earlier today and noticed their "divx media format" and that it includes menus, chapters, and subtitles. I was wondering if theres a way I can take a dvd, compress it, then take the menu and subtitles off that dvd and create a .divx (divx media format) movie? And also enable chapter selection for it. Thanks, Mike.

    Definatly possible, just not sure if there is any tool to automate the menu recreation. Subtitles and chapters are easy enough though.

    For MKV there is DVDMenuXtrator, not sure if it is possible to playback mkv menus yet though. VLC is supposed to get or already have support for mkv menus, however for me it just crashed.
